Both these photos were taken in the first week of March, one in Alberta (snow) and one taken on Pender Island. Starting in February we have flowers blooming. The daffodils are out, some tulips, this beautiful Camellia bush.
Pender Island enjoys a mild climate all year round. We rarely have snow and if we do it only lasts a day or maybe if really cold a week but this is fairly unusual. It most cases if it snows it melts the same day or does not stick at all. Protected in a rain shadow we receive about a third of the rain as Vancouver.
You can grow all kinds of fruit trees - apples, pears, plums, peaches, kiwis, grapes etc.
A week ago I enjoyed watching a group of threes swans along with some ducks and a Heron in Hope Bay. On Valentine's Day my daughter went swimming in the ocean with a wet suit.
